Speckle Trout & Red Fish
Last year a total of
twenty-eight (28) 8
pound Speckle
Trout were taken in a eight week period from the April to June.
In April alone, three
"Specs"
over
10
pounds were taken,
the Biggest was over
30 3/4 Inches Long !!!
From June through
October you can catch big numbers of fish, because the weather and water
conditions are pure vanilla.
But, if you want an opportunity to catch "Specs"
in the 8
pound and up range, you need to start in April and fish through the middle of
June.
If you have three
ingredients....moving water, clean water and baitfish,
you're gonna catch Speckled trout.
You need a light Southeast breeze, just enough to put a ripple on the water, and
a
water temperature just over 67 degrees. You'll find the fish in a
mere two feet of water.
